"I'm thankful to the voters of Howard County who came out today and last week during early voting," Siddiqui said. "I'm really pleased with the results, and I'm looking forward to continuing my work on the Board for the children and people of Howard County."

She has dedicated her career to helping children and is committed to children’s Education, Health, and their Future

At the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians she has served children and families in East Baltimore and presently in the Odenton area. She was appointed by the Governor of Maryland to serve on the Patuxent River Commission. She presented a case study on childhood obesity at the Howard County American Heart Association Annual Gala.

When Janet was asked why she is running for the Board of Education, her response was,

"What could be more important than our children's education? We are fortunate to live in one of the best counties in the nation with a top notch school system. We need to sustain that momentum and build on our future generations. I've focused my entire career on children's health, and now it’s time to give back to the community. There are many issues facing our children today, and with my medical background I feel I can bring my expertise to the Board of Education."
